System
Design Approaches
The problems
described above can be eliminated by adhering to sound engineering
practices when the system is designed and applying prudent management
principles in the operation of the equipment.
One effective
design approach is depicted in figure attached herewith. This system
contains the purification components and includes recirculation
pump. The pump provides for recirculation of water within the system
whenever a low flow or no flow situation exists. This serves not
only to reduce bacterial proliferation, but also maintains system
purity. The design also incorporates ultraviolet sterilizers and
media trap filters. The sterilizers destroy bacteria in the purified
water stream. The filters remove particles from the water stream,
which could shield bacteria from the ultraviolet radiation, maximising
the efficiency of the sterlizers.
Some of the
salient features of Storage and Distribution, Instrumentation and
Sanitization are highlighted below, enabling to achieve the objective
with proper optimisation.
